I’m so sorry. I meant to do this earlier, but then, life happened. My job and school are conspiring against me. Gah! *remembers with sorrow and nostalgia old Nanowrimos when I actually won and had lots of fun with friends in the meanwhile*
If you’ve forgotten (my fault) or if you’re new (welcome!), here are the rules of the Music Writing Challenge:
- If you’re not familiar with the piece of music, you may actively–no distractions–listen to it once through.
- Open a Word document and press play. Begin to write when the music starts, and when the music stops, if you must write on, please insert a line or page break for indication that the bit below it was written after the music was over.
- Have fun!
This week’s focusing piece is “Courageous” by Casting Crowns. (If you have not seen the movie Courageous for which the piece was written, GO SEE IT NOW. It’s got several awards from various indie film festivals and it’s sad and happy and awesome and just all-around amazing.)
I can’t wait to see what you all come up with! 😀 Thanks for reading, God bless, good luck and good writing!
TOTALLY DOING THIS. I just saw Courageous for the first time last week and loved it. The Kendricks brothers are awesome. 🙂
YESSSSSs *hugs you like mad* 😀 😀 😀 NOW WATCH FIREPROOF!!!!
ALSO CASTING CROWNS IS AWESOME!!!!!
*hugs you back like mad* I plan to! As long as you watch War Room. 😛
I think my brother has it, so now all I have to do is to find the time.
Seriously, the old lady (Miss Clara) is a hilariously well made character. 😉 And the story is as amazing as always. Both my parents cried multiple times. I came close at the end…
Hey, have you seen Moms’ Night Out? It’s not the Kendricks, but it’s still great. 🙂
No, I haven’t. In Fireproof there’s a couple of hilarious scenes where the main character is throwing a temper tantrum in the backyard and then he looks over the fence at the neighbor… who is an older guy. “Mr. Robinson.” “Caleb.” X-D
XD I think I might remember that! Mom and Dad showed us a few scenes. For a while, all I’d seen of Courageous was the Snake Kings scene. 😛
Oh, something weird in Moms’ Night Out. The three dads are Alex Kendrick, Javier and Samwise Gamgee. XD And then the guy who was Shane Fuller in Courageous is a guy who hates kids, but has to babysit anyway.
X-D That was the best part. Have you seen the Fireproof and Courageous in 1 minute spoofs? X-D Those are so fun!
JAVIER IS AWESOME!!!!
That sounds amazing. I’ll have to look it up. X-D
I know! And the subtitles make it even better. XD *murderous stare* “I’ll get a chicken sandwich…”
I shall try and find those. 😉
Oh! And Facing the Giants. Have you seen that one? That was the first movie of theirs we saw. 🙂
I said it before, I’ll say it again. Javier is the best X-D
Yes!!! I kept crying over the coach and his wife.
I loved the part in that with the conversation started off by Stan Shultz. XD and Grant throws the football helmet at them…
And the death crawl. “Alright. Who’s next?”
I don’t remember that part…
Yes. X-D
I have not seen Courageous because . . . well, mostly because it’s not my type of movie. Contemporary anything tends to bore me. 😛
However, I do love this song and so will hopefully manage to do the challenge this week.
Hooray! 😀
Really? Hm. It’s a good movie… 😉
I’m sure it is. But just because it’s a good movie doesn’t mean I’ll enjoy it.
Ah… you prefer fantasy and historical fiction? *makes handwavy Jedi Mind Trick gesture* You want to watch “The Scarlet Pimpernel” now… 😛
Fantasy and superhero and sci-fi . . . and, yes, an occasional dip into historical fiction. Basically, the same I read.
I am going to read/watch The Scarlet Pimpernel. Eventually.
READ IT NOW! Watch it later, but READ IT NOW!!! X-D
Butbutbut I’m already reading Words of Radiance! And seriously, if I switch books this close to the end, I’ll probably never sleep again. 😛
Fiiiiiinnneee 😛
awe, wish I had time for things like this still… my life is crazy busy. We need to catch up Erin, been ages! 🙂
Yes, I’m so sorry I missed your call Sunday. :-S We were watching “Firefly.” I’m sending an email with the details of my Easter break. Please keep an eye out!
I’ll keep an eye out! I’ll send details on mine once they put out schedule in the next couple weeks. 🙂
Okay! 😀
You know I’m totally procrastinating on wordpress right now, right? 😛
Huh. I wish I had the time to do that. 😛
