Artwork
This is my first concept art for Rowan. (I used to have a similar scar on my right cheek, not the left… it faded though. I got it by falling on my face on a dog collar…)
My first attempt at symbolic artwork. Rowan has prophetic dreams; I attempted to convey that here…
A drawing of Rowan concentrating deeply on a fire spell. Surprisingly, this one didn’t take nearly as long to complete as I feared. Special thanks to Jewel, without whom I would have forgotten the scar on Rowan’s cheek… oh, and if you were wondering, his bad leg is not physically deformed; it was just broken badly and then didn’t heal right. The bones are too weak, so he could very easily break it again, and the muscles are weak as well. Oh, and to those who were wondering… the double-clasp in the other drawing of Rowan is really part of his cloak, NOT his shirt. 😛
A colored-in version of “Focus,” using Paint… it’s called PAINt for a reason. 😛
Melilana, Queen of Ertraia, preparing a spell.
The colored version of the previous drawing. (Purple is Melilana’s favorite color–oh, okay, I just thought it suited her.)
Queen Melilana in her days as a Ranger.
Colored in… Melilana’s not wearing makeup in this one. 😛
This is not the best drawing, either… but at least it’s got Rowan in a kilt and moving and isn’t a total flop.
An early concept for the Ertraian arms. (Obviously, I didn’t select this one. I thought it looked too much like a Thunderbird. :-P)
The final design for the Ertraian arms.
A colored version of the Ertraian arms. (If anyone wants to slightly redesign it so it looks more elegant, please feel free. Just make sure to tell me about it so I can see it! 😉 ) Also, the blog icon now! 😀
Rowan in his new jacket outfit, pencil on sketch paper. (This is what my ink drawings look like before I ink the lines and erase the pencil.)
Pen on sketch paper, following pencil lines with the pencil erased (the final version!) Erin still needs to work on drawing boots.

Thanks! 😀 I’m working on characters in motion and more dynamic poses, but it’s an ongoing process. 😉 Simple poses are easier. 🙂

Thanks! 🙂 I’m glad you liked it.

When I have time I will slightly redesign the Ertraian arms. You are very talented. Have you ever considered trying your hand at calligraphy? You may be good at it. Just a thought. 🙂

I’ve tried calligraphy, but though my handwriting is readable it’s also atrocious, so I need more practice. ;-P And thanks! 🙂 I was hoping for something as elegant as the arms of Rohan in Lord of the Rings, but I was having a hard time adding any embellishment to the basic design. 🙂
heidiskye333 said:
Ok. I’ll work on the embellishment part. 🙂

😀 This is so exciting!

Hi! Check out thewayofwabi.wordpress.com to see the redesigned coat of arms under “Obi Wabi”. I’m sorry. I don’t know how to ping back or do any of that fancy stuff. 😦 Feel free to take, leave, colorize or redesign any aspect of it to your personal liking. It’s simply an idea – not a concrete final product. There are no copyrights on any of my art work. I hope I headed in the right direction in terms of embellishment. Let me know your thoughts on it. Thanks! 🙂
